Power Hammer Sizes
Which model to select?
STH-15
Knifemaker Power Hammer
The STH-15 kg power hammer has the advantage of running off a normal 240V electrical circuit without needing a VFD and being the easiest to move around of the ST Power Hammer models. Considered suitable more for knifemakers or smaller blacksmithing projects, the hammer still can work up to 30 x 30 mm square steel.
STH-25
Blacksmith Power Hammer
The STH-25 kg power hammer is a heavier model and the smallest we would recommend if making damascus or forging heavier stock such as axes or hammers. The 25 kg model requires a dedicated 240 V circuit and comes with a VFD included in the price. The 25 kg model can work up to 40 x 40 mm square steel.
STH-40
Heavy Blacksmith Power Hammer
The STH-40 is the heaviest of the standard power hammer sizes and the largest hammer that runs on a 240 V circuit, using a VFD to convert between the electrical outlet and the 3-phase motor. The STH-40 is a heavy hammer at 1350 kg which should have a solid foundation, and can work stock up to 50 x 50 mm. As the ram weight goes up, the hitting speed is reduced, the frequency of the 40 kg model is 245 heats per minute.
STH-55, STH-75 & STH-110
